Well, we have now been living in South Texas for two months. Although we love it down here, it has been very difficult to plant roots. We are still living with my sister's family as we continue to wait for our house to sell.
Before moving, we were told by the bank to short sale our house, so that we could move on with life. Unfortunately, the information we were given has not exactly worked out to our benefit. We have had three offers, but the bank is so far behind on short sales that they are saying it will take 90-120 days to process. The first two could not wait that long, but we do have an offer right at the moment that is willing to wait out the possible 120 days. We are hopeful that our house will no longer be a subject of stress in our lives.
Rick is adjusting to his new job at The Scooter Store fairly quickly. It has been quite a change from his past positions, but he really likes the feeling of making a difference in people's lives.
The house down here seems to be a mad house now that the kids are all out of school(school's been out since the end of May). You've never heard anything until you've heard six children laughing, screaming, whining, crying day in and day out. They have had lots of fun together though.
One of the benefits to living down here, other than living close to family again, is that there is way more to see and do! We have a lot of things that we would like to see and do still, but we have had a lot of fun so far. Since we've been down here we have enjoyed a visit from my Uncle Mark and Aunt Debbie, a visit from my parents, a visit from our very good friends (Chad and Erika), a trip to the Riverwalk, playtime at some great parks, great food, and a concert in the park. We are looking forward to a visit from my grandparents in another week.
We have found a wonderful church! It reminds us so much of Hillside in Amarillo. We have already joined a small group and have really enjoyed the people we have met. We look forward to becoming more involved in the church as time goes on.
Here are some pictures we have taken since being down here. Enjoy!
