Rick's Parents come to Visit

Our family went to Oklahoma City for the 4th of July where we met up with Rick's parents who were coming to visit from Ohio. We had a good time. We did a lot of walking around Bricktown on the 4th. There were a lot of people taking advantage of the wonderful weather there. The kids(including Grandma Annette) had a great time cooling off in the water fountain.
The baseball stadium in Bricktown did an amazing firework show after the game, so we sat across the street in a nice grassy area to watch.
The next day Rick and his dad checked out the National Cowboy Museum. Rick enjoyed spending some quality time with his dad. When they got back, we took a long walk to the OKC National Memorial. We didn't go through the Museum, but we did walk around the outdoor memorial. Rick and I had been to it before, but it doesn't make it any easier to walk through. You feel such sadness as you experience the location of such a terrible event.
After spending some time in Oklahoma, Rick's parents followed us back home. They stayed with us for almost a week. It was a nice time of r & r (at least for some of us). We are thanking the Lord everyday that Rick's dad, Larry, was here to help us when our sewer system failed and started coming up in our backyard. He fixed the problem and saved us a ton! Annette also helped a lot. We are so thankful to them! The kids loved having their grandparents here and we all had a wonderful visit with them.
