Kiahna's 1st Fieldtrip

Kiahna was so excited for her first fieldtrip of the school year! Three of the Kindergarten classes loaded the "yellow" bus for a trip to the fire station, police station, the library, and a picnic in the park. Once the bus parked, each class rotated between each location. Our first stop, the fire station, had all of the kids wanting to become firefighters when they grow up. When the teacher asked who would like to be a firefighter, every single child rose their hand (so did the teacher and all of the parents).

Our next stop was the police station. The kids really enjoyed meeting McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog! When asked how many would like to become police officers, only a few raised their hands. As we were walking out of the police station, I asked Kiahna which one she would like to be more (a firefighter? or a police officer?) and she said "both." That's my girl!!!

We left from there, on foot, to the library. You might think that this would be a boring end after a fire dept. and police station, but you would be wrong. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the book reading! The book that was read was an interactive book, so as you can imagine, the kindergarteners were actively involved!
Once we were finished there, we caught the bus again for our final destination...the park! All three classes came back together for a picnic in the park. It was great fun except for the trip to the bathroom! Talk about disgusting! There were no doors on any of the stalls and there was water (or pee) all over the floor...YUCK! After the bathroom break, the kids had fun playing on the park playground. It's amazing how many kids we had to redirect back to the play area. Kindergarteners are so much fun and so much work!
